Proforca Theatre is celebrating ten years with the return of one of its most explosive hits, 2019’s dystopian thriller At Last, running for ten performances only at London’s Lion & Unicorn Theatre. I can’t wait to revisit the play and its added relevance in 2025.
The old world has fallen and something brave and new has taken its place.
Out of the fire and rubble and the ashes something new is born. A chance to learn about the past and to discover who we were to save the future. A chance to find hope anew, or to tear open wounds which will never close again.
This is the story of ten years of hate. Ten years of oppression and anger when we gave ourselves up to the dark.
A story of the mother who fought for her broken sons, and the father that stood in judgement. The daughter willing to pay the ultimate price for freedom, the man who stood by and watched and the woman that listened.

At Last.
Premiered at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in 2019, At Last is from the same company that brought you Feel, Lately, Flashbang, The Shatter Box and, earlier this year, And If the Surface Tension Breaks. It’s co-written by James Lewis and Alexander Knott, helmed by artistic director David Brady, with associates Mark Conway and Jess Barton.
Following the 7.30pm performance on Wednesday 3 September 2025, I’ll chair a discussion with the At Last company about ten years of Proforca Theatre, the creative process and the play’s new resonances since my original post-show Q&A during the premiere season in 2019.
