Running at London’s Etcetera Theatre, Jupiter’s Ghost Origins, written and directed by Tani Gill, is the much-anticipated prequel to last year’s sci-fi dance play Jupiter’s Ghost.
In last year’s Jupiter’s Ghost, Dr Elias Crete, a scientist with a single-minded obsession, will do anything to save his son Jove, a feat he can only achieve by recreating humanity as it once was. Dr Elias Crete is fighting a losing battle against time to save that which is most dear to him.
Jupiter’s Ghost Origins was created in response to the high demand from reviewers and audience members who wanted to know the backstory behind its characters.
The new prequel dives into the heart of Dr Crete’s past. Grieving the loss of his epileptic daughter, he is determined to transfer her consciousness into a new body. In his quest, he recreates his soulmate Freya, blending her DNA with AI to form “Mother.”
But as Dr Crete focuses on his daughter’s legacy, he remains unaware that both Mother and the droid CAI harbor a hidden agenda. What secrets will be unveiled?
Written and directed by Tani Gill, this unique prequel production is performed by Ronan Colfer as Dr Elias Crete, Maisie Frater and Subhashree lyer.
