Phantasmagoria

Chairing post-show talks and panel discussions that give unmissable insights to audiences is my favourite thing to do. I have a wide variety of events coming up for plays and musicals across London and beyond.

Kali Theatre presents the world premiere of Phantasmagoria, a gripping psychological horror for our times by internationally acclaimed Indian playwright Deepika Arwind in her British debut. I’ll discuss with Arwind and the Kali team at London’s Southwark Playhouse.

A chilling psychological horror story for our time.

Mehrosh, a celebrated student activist, has been invited to an isolated house in the middle of a forest to take part in a debate with a powerful political adversary from the ruling party. It’s a chance to make her voice heard.

Fearful of the coming conflict, surrounded by eerie shadows and mysterious noises, and increasingly uncertain of what she is told, Mehrosh starts to feel a growing paranoia that the people around her are not what they seem…

Phantasmagoria explores the dangers of divisive politics and unbridled social media to show how fear can be manufactured and manipulated with chilling consequences.

Deepika Arwind is an award-winning international playwright originally from Bangalore whose work has been presented across India, Europe and the US.

Award-winning Kali Theatre develops and presents thought-provoking contemporary theatre by women writers of South Asian descent. Jo Tyabji directs Antony Bunsee, Ulrika Krishnamurti, Hussina Raja and Tania Rodrigues in the premiere production.

Following the evening performance on Wednesday 15 November 2023, I’ll talk to Deepika Arwind and the Kali Theatre team about bringing Phantasmagoria to the stage. Any questions? Join us!
